Record Watch: Class 2 Record - 21.87 set in 2012. Top Seed: Michael Wells - 21.64, second seed: Devonte' Ware - 21.84
This is another event Michael Wells come in the favorite. While the 100 is his strength Wells can run a strong 200. The Cleveland NJROTC junior is looking for his first 200 title as he was unable to take the title last year losing by only two one hundredths of a second. While he is the favorite, I suspect this victory will be a bit tougher for Wells. Charleston’s Devonte’ Ware is the only other sub-22 second runner in the field. He took the District 1 title before beating defeated by Wells by .2 seconds at Sectionals. A couple other names to watch out for are Devan Hughes who clocked in at 22.1h at sectionals. When someone who made the final as a sophomore returns you always will have to keep an eye out for them. Cedric O’Hara is coming back from a fifth place finish last May and was the sectional champ this past weekend with the fourth fastest time in the class.
