Final 2014 Big River XC Rankings

Top 15 Boys

1     Michael Karls, Festus –  Picking a #1 is quite a challenge as all of our top guys seemed to each have a turn defeating someone else on the list but we are given the nod to the guy who we think has been the most consistent all season.  We look forward to the post season with Michael going head to head after state with the Class 4 guys on this list.

2.     Clayton Adams, Kearney – Could a sophomore guy possibly win Class 4?  Adams has won his last 3 races including a victory over Mugeche on Saturday and has a legitimate shot to take home a Class 4 Championship on Saturday.

3.     Stephen Muguche, Blue Springs – Hopefully Stephen is OK after Yael’s report of his be given oxygen after the race on Saturday.  As the runner up in 2013 we hope to see a healthy Stephen chasing that state championship on Saturday.

4.     Camden Barrett, West Plains – We expect to get some grief from fans of Nathan Hall after Barrett was 2nd on Saturday but it’s not like a West Plains runner has never held back a tad the week before state. After a disappointing race in 2013, we expect a big race from Camden on Saturday.

5.     Tyler Gilliam, Festus –   Not only does he make up the best 1-2 punch in the state this guy would be a #1 just about anywhere else.

6-     Dylan Quisenberry, Lafayette Wildwood –  Kuddo’s to the guys from Lafayette Wildwood. While they make it impossible to rank in any order, their race strategy has been producing some great team results.

7.     Matt Hennessey, SLUH –Winner of Section 2 his times at Forest Park and Palatine suggest he finished the last two races with plenty in the tank.

8.    Austin Hindman, Lafayette Wildwood – District 2 and Section 1 Champion.

9.    Nathan Hall, Kickapoo – We’ve underestimated Nathan before so it’s entirely possible with have the Section 3 champ too low.

10.  Ben Naeger, Ste. Genevieve – Three guys from Class 3 in the top 10 and they all hail from District 1.

11   Jordan Inman, West Plains  Jordan was 3rd behind Barrett and Hall on Saturday and 2nd to Barrett in districts.

12   Alec Haines, Lafayette Wildwood – 5 seconds back of his teammates in Section 1

13.  Jeremy Inman, West Plains – 8 seconds back of brother Jordan on Saturday (sorry Jeremy).

14   Nathan Straubel, Platte County – His 3rd place finish at Section 4 was the lowest he’s been all season. He was only 12 seconds back of Adams at Districts and 23 seconds ahead of 3rd.

15. Marcus Johnson, Nixa – A new name on our top 15 the Class 4 District 5 has been close to many of the other names in our top 15 this season and grabs the final spot.

Honorable Mention:   Matt Alvey, Liberty; Cody Berry, Blue Springs; Seth Brown, LaPata; Nate Gelber, Whitfield
