Who was your biggest competition?
Amber Peterson, Maya Cody, and Kacie Tripp by far. These girls are incredible athletes and running the 400m against them has been challenging and also great. I am going to miss their competitiveness and determination in college track.
What was your most memorable race/meet?
I don't think I could pick just one. I would say my most memorable would be the 4x4 this year at state where my relay placed 3rd in Class 4. We continued to work and we never gave up a chance to better ourselves and we proved that at state this year and I could not be more proud of my team than what we laid out on the track this year. My second most memorable race would be the 300m hurdles race at Conference.
If you could do it all over again what would you change about your career in high school?
I am actually pleased with how my career started and ended. I have had many incredible races and memories, but I have also had some bad races that I have learned from. I would have to say that I started doing the 300m hurdles my senior year and even though I was Conference Champ in them, I wish I would have done hurdles earlier in my career.
What will you miss the most?
The whole high school track scene. My coaches, and my teammates. My first track family. My partner in crime, Kacie Tripp. I have become part of a track family that I am proud of, and I can not wait to see how the program continues to become even greater in years to come.
What are your college plans?
I will be attending an NAIA College, Lindenwood University- Belleville, running college indoor/outdoor track and majoring in Biology to become an Occupational Therapist.
Who would you like to say thank you to?
God for giving me my abilities to be an athlete and stay healthy. My coaches for pushing me everyday and dealing with my attitude everyday in practice. My teammates for the support and helpfulness through the years. My competition for pushing me to run harder and push myself through the pain. My family for supporting me and my love for track.
