What were the expectations coming into the season for Sam?

The expectations for Sam were to pick up where he left off from last track season.  Having run sub 9:30 and finishing in the top 5 at the state track meet in the 3200 was a solid breakthrough for him, so progressing from there with hopes of being a top 10 to top 5 cross country runner has been one of the cross country goals.  Obviously, in order to do that, you have to put in a nice summer and continue to maintain your health, both of which he has done to this point.  Probably the most important expectation was to team up with some of his fellow seniors and use their personalities to help replace the likes of our positive leaders from past season's and continue to move the team forward.
