Anderson was 5th coming down the home stretch last year, but was handed a DQ after cutting in too soon. She still posted a 2:26.26 in that race and thus merits a top 5 ranking regardless of her official personal best of 2:33.68. Anderson got some tough luck in 2017, but should be back with a vengeance in 2018.
3. Audrey Maggart - St. Joseph Christian, SO
PR - 2:30.33
Maggart had a strong cross country season if she didn't improve upon her freshman year time. She was still 3rd this fall and finished 2nd in District 8, the strongest one in Class 1. She specialized in the 800 her freshman year and ran 2:30.33 at Sectional 4 before taking 11th at the state meet. She gets the bump because of her personal best and success at state in cross country.
