Usually we say that the second place returner from last year's state championship may have a shot at the title this spring. While Baylee Bilyeu still, in theory, does have a shot, it would take something truly special for her to overcome our number one ranked returner. Nevertheless, Bilyeu is among the best in Class 3 heading into 2017 and could surprise some people this season if she makes another big jump like she did last year. After entering 2017 with only one career throw over 100 feet, she ended her season eight more over 100 and a huge 128-2 PR for second at state. But with one of the elite discus throwers in the entire country ahead of her, she will have to make one heck of a big jump.
