2018 Outdoor Preview

2. KC Lightfoot (Lee's Summit)

The Defending State Champion comes into Outdoor after a PR Vault of 17-8.5 at the New Balance National Indoor Meet last weekend which was good enough for 2nd. Not only does he hold the second highest vault in state history, but he also tied for 10th All-Time Nationally. He'll be chasing Chris Nilsen's state record of 18-4.75 this season, and he come into the year hot so it'll be interesting to see if he can break it.

1. Brandon Miller (John Burroughs)

Brandon Miller is no stranger to breaking records and leaving people speechless. Last season for him was one of the most impressive years by a high school athlete in state history, and HE WAS ONLY A FRESHMAN. He holds the national record in the 800m in every age group he's participated in, and his PR of 1:49.87 was the seventh fastest time in the nation last year which was also second in state history. This year he'll look to break the record, and move up into the all-time national lists. I'm really excited to see how he does this year, and every time he steps on the track everyone in Missouri should pay attention.
