Salute to Seniors 3: A. Delaney, Z. Christensen, A. Bruckner

Q:What was your most memorable race/moment?

A: My sophomore year during XC I was injured, but I still ran at Northwest's course. I fell down in the race, but I still set a PR by about an entire minute.  I ran 17:13.

Q:Who would you consider your biggest competition over your four years?

A: My biggest competition is probably the Lafayette guys. I've always been trying to stick with them.

    Q:What was your greatest accomplishment?

A: My biggest accomplishment might be that i made it to state in 2 events. The 800m and the 4x400m.

Q:If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

A: I would have run a lot more miles, and I would have ran XC freshman year.

Q:What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

A:My most difficult obstacle was getting past districts on both XC and Track. I've always had the capability to run fast enough, but I never made it past until XC last fall.

Q:What will you miss the most?

A:The team for sure,  and I will miss XC meets on general.

Q:What advice would you give to younger athletes?

A: Don't lead Forrest Park XC festival for the first 400m. (or any huge race.)

Q:What influence has your coach had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

A:Coach Demattei has really helped me reach my top performances. He has taken so much time out of his own life to help me and our team get to where we want to be. He's taught me that I can get through those dark places and that I can overcome just about anything.

    Q:What are your college plans?

A:I plan to attend BYU to study Physics and Astronomy. I am increasing my mileage this summer to try to walk on to BYU's XC team. I also plan to serve a 2 year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormon Church).

Q:Who would you like to say 'thank you' to?

A:I would like to say thank you to all of those that came to support me at any or all my races. I also want to say thank you to my teammates for making it the best time.

Q:Is there anything else you'd like to add?

A: I set a PR almost everytime I ate white bread before a race.

Q:What was the funniest thing that happened during your running career?

    A:Calling eachother fat.
