Class 2 Girls Race is Wide Open
There really isn't an over the top favorite in this race, and it honestly is probably the best chance for a sleeper pick to come up and compete for a title out of all the races I've previewed so far. However, I think that Alexis Fischer is the favorite to win it. Her PR and Season Best of 19:51 was ran on the State Course this year, so we know she's got that at least in the tank. The strongest challenger I believe will be Kaleigh Moore of North Callaway, as she's been really consistent at getting low 20's and sports a 19:51 season best. Last year's Runner Up Allie Gibbs is also in the field, and has a season best of 19:45 but she ran that was in the first race of the season and she hasn't ran up to her standards since. Kate Klott (19:48) and Kendall Haller (20:06) were both also in the top 5 at State a year ago and should be back up front if they race like we all know they can.
Fatima Goes for 6th Straight State Title
The Fatima Girls have won five straight State Championships and will look to make it six on Saturday. I predict that this one will be a tight race though between them and Bowling Green. Bowling Green has the edge in the virtual meet, however I think that may be a bit misleading as the they ran at a really fast meet at Orchard Farm. I believe Fatima will come away the title, but I do think its going to be close and wouldn't be completely shocked if Bowling Green do end up winning. I think Jefferson R-VII is the next best team, and think they will third and well ahead of forth. Forth looks to be a battle between Father Totlon, College Heights, and Lamar. I think though that Father Totlon will secure that 4th place trophy.
