Preston Thomas (Princeton)
The Princeton Senior will be looking to climb the rankings after finishing 17th at the State Meet last season, which was his second State Medal after a 20th place finish in 2017. Preston picked up three more State Medal's on the track this season with 6th place finishes in the 800m & 1600m, and a runner up finish in the 3200m. He'll look to continue that momentum into the Fall as he chases his third straight XC State Medal.
Phillip Pattison (West Platte)
Pattison returns as a two time State Medalist after a 22nd finish in 2017, and an 18th finish last season. He has done a very good job at peaking at the right time as his fastest races in each of the last three seasons has been at the State Meet, which is pretty impressive considering the challenge that was Oak Hills. He'll look to come up clutch again this year, and on the faster course at Gans Creek that would likely mean a nice PR.
Codey Shuler (Fair Play)
Codey had a big year last season, and he will look to build upon that success to have a good senior year in 2019. Coming off of a 44th place finish at State his sophomore year, he finished in the top 10 in eight of his nine races last season. He ended his season with an 8th place finish at the Class 1 State Meet to earn his first State Medal. He also returns with the forth fastest returning time from last season with a 17:14, and is the second highest returner from the Class 1 State meet.
Audrey Maggart (St. Joseph Christian)
She earned a State Medal with a 13th place finish last season, helping St. Joseph Christian to a 4th place finish and a State Trophy. She and her teammates will look to build upon that finish this season and challenge for a State Title. She holds the 7th fastest returning time in Class 1 as well with a 21:00.
Anna Carter (St. Joseph Christian)
Another of St. Joseph Christians excellent squad, Carter will look to build upon her 8th place individual finish from a year ago. She's the top returning senior this year, and picked up two more State Medals on the track in the Spring with a 7th place finish in the 1600m, and a 5th place finish in the 3200m. Look for her to be near the front leading her teammates to a title challenge.
Malayna Briner (North Andrew)
Briner picked up a 9th place finish last season to pick up her second State Medal after a 12th place finish in Class 3 in 2017. She didn't have quite the success last year after moving to North Andrew, but if she can get back to where she was in 2017 when she ran a 19:42, she can absolutely challenge to be in the top 5 this Fall in Class 1.
Lauren Ada (Lutheran - Kansas City)
Lauren will be shooting for her third straight State Medal in Cross Country as she heads out on to the course this Spring. She placed 10th in 2018 and was 8th in 2017, and she'll look to climb higher this season. She earned an additional medal this season on the track with a 7th place finish in the 3200m back in May, and will try and use that momentum heading into the Fall.
