Returning Juniors to Watch in Class 1 XC

Abigail Allred (Lutheran - Kansas City)

The Lutheran (Kansas City) Junior had an impressive first season of cross country last Fall, as she earned All-State honors with a 6th place finish at the State Championships. She followed that up with a stellar track season in which she saw great improvement in the 800m and placed 7th at the Class 1 State Meet. She also picked up another medal in the 1600m with a 5th place finish. She's a prime candidate for a breakout season this Fall as she enters her second cross country season.

Sophia Rush (West Platte)

Rush picked up her first state medal in cross country last Fall when she placed 7th at Oak Hills. She'll look to keep improving in 2019, while helping her team try and improve on a third place finish last year at State.

Mia Wiley (Fordland)

Wiley will be going for her third straight state medal this Fall when she heads to the new state course at Gans Creek. She placed 16th last year, and was the 9th place finisher in 2017. She had much more consistent year last season and looks primed and ready for a big junior campaign.

Hunter Hinds (Jasper)

As an All-Stater in each of his first two cross country seasons, Hinds will look to make it 3-for-3 this Fall. Last year he placed 12th at State, improving on his 16th place finish as a freshman in 2017. He'll look to keep getting faster in 2019 and try to crack the top 10 at Gans Creek.

Corey Ames (Weaubleau)

The Weaubleau Junior picked up his first state medal last year, with a 19th place finish at State. He'll look to keep steadily improving as he did last year to climb even higher on the medal stand this season.
