The Juniors to Look Out For in Class 2 XC


Kaleigh Moore (North Callaway)

Kaleigh is coming into 2019 off of her second straight All-State performance. She placed 4th last year at the state meet to follow up a 21st place finish back in 2017. She also had a successful track season, as she picked up a 6th place finish in the Class 3 3200m.

Camy Grote (Bowling Green)

The Bowling Green Junior is returning in 2019 looking to pick up her third straight state medal in cross country. She was the 15th place finisher last season, and in 2017 she was 14th. She'll look to earn another medal this Fall, and crack the top 10 at Gans Creek.

Emma Mcintyre (New Haven)

Already a two-time state medalist, mcintyre will look to make 3-for-3 in 2019. She placed 16th last year at state, and was the 5th place finisher in Class 1 back in 2017. Track season was another successful one as she picked up her second straight state medal in the 3200m with another 7th place finish this Spring.


Mark Hutchinson (Cleveland NJROTC)

Hutchinson picked up his first state medal last Fall with a 13th place finish at State. He holds the 5th fastest returning time in Class 2 as well with a 16:32. He'll look to maintain the trend of steady improvement that he has shown the last two years and climb higher on the podium this season.

Lucas Laux (Fatima)

Fatima has been known recently for having some of the top runners in Class 2. Lucas is another one of those and has medaled at the state meet in each of the last two seasons. Last season he placed 9th at Oak Hills, to improve on his 14th place finish from 2017.

Dawson Woehr (Fatima)

Yet another great runner from Fatima, Dawson Woehr will look to pick up another medal this season. Last season he placed 8th, which helped propel Fatima to the Class 2 team State Championship. He'll look to have another good season of improvement this year to try and help the Comets repeat as State Champions.
