The Sophomores to Look Out For in Class 2

Grace Buschling (Clark County)

After placing third a year ago at the State Meet as a freshman, Buschling will look to earn another medal this Fall. She had a great track season in which she made it to State in both the 1600m and 3200m, and was All-State in the 3200m with an 8th place finish in Class 2.

Alex Sharp (Brookfield)

The Brookfield Sophomore had a spectacular freshman campaign, and will look to build on that in the 2019 season. She earned All-State status last year with a 5th place finish, and will look to climb to new heights this Fall. She also picked up three state medals in track, with a State Championship in the Class 2 1600m, and she placed 4th in the 800m and 2nd in the 3200m.

Morgan Miller (Hermann)

Miller was All-State a year ago when she earned an 8th place finish at Oak Hills. She continued to have success on the track in the Spring, where she finished 3rd in the Class 2 3200m and 4th in the 1600m. She'll look to keep the momentum going heading into the Fall.

Daelen Ackley (El Dorado Springs)

Ackley had a dynamite freshman season for El Dorado Springs last year, winning six out of nine races including a 4th place finish at the State Meet. He also had a great run on the track in the Spring, earning State Medals in both the Class 3 3200m (4th) and the 1600m (6th).

Rex Heath (Principia)

After a pretty solid showing at State XC in 2019 with a 55th place finish, Heath will look to get on to the podium this Fall. He picked up a State Medal in Track with an 8th place finish in the Class 2 3200m, so he may be able to use that momentum to propel him this season.
