The Top Sophomores to Watch in Class 4 This Fall

Ally Kruger (Liberty-Wentzville)

Most of us knew off Ally Kruger long before she entered high school, and she lived up to the hype in her freshman season. She finished in 8th place at State to earn a spot on the podium, and picked up five wins during the season. She had a great track season as well, earning All-State status in the Class 4 3200m with a 2nd place finish, and a 5th place finish in the 1600m. She also was a key member of Liberty's 4x800m State Championship team.

Frances Luna (Cor Jesu)

After an All-State finish last year with a 17th place finish at Oak Hills, Luna will look to move up the podium in 2019. She was really consistent last season, and should be back near the front when she heads to Gans Creek in November.

Marisa Jacknewitz (Nerinx Hall)

Jacknewitz had a strong freshman campaign, and will look to follow it up with another great year as a sophomore. She was just short of an All-State finish last year as she finished 30th at the State Meet. She had a solid season on the track as well, placing 9th in the Class 5 1600m. She'll look to earn her first State Medal this Fall.

Mack Flynn (Francis Howell)

The Francis Howell Viking had a solid freshman season, and will look to build upon that as she heads into the 2019 season. She placed 39th at State a year ago, and will look to get on the podium when she heads to Gans Creek in November. It took her a few races to find her stride, but after that she was a really consistent performer for the Vikings and she'll look to keep rowing this Fall.

Ethan Lee (Liberty North)

After a solid showing in his freshman campaign, Lee will try and climb to new heights this Fall. He placed 66th at State last year, but seemed to keep getting better as the season went on. He had a great track season as well, as he qualified to State in a very tough Class 5 1600m field.

Thomas Roehl (Jefferson City)

Roehl had a great end to his freshman season, seeing his best performances come in the post season last year. He placed 76th at the State Meet, and will look to keep on climbing up the ranks as he heads to Columbia for State this Fall.
