Team Race
Defending State Champion Lee's Summit West looks to be in a position to repeat as champions. They have been completely dominate this season, and have yet to lose in the State of Missouri. They have five girls ranked in the top 25 in Class 4, so they could potentially have all their scorers win State Medals on Saturday. That will leave West Plains, Rock Bridge, Eureka, Nerinx Hall, and St. Teresa's battling for the remaining three State Trophies in what should be a very fast race.
Individual Race
Freshman super star Carolyn Ford (Rock Bridge) looks to be the heavy favorite to win the individual State Title. She hasn't lost a race since Forest Park, which also happens to be the last time she didn't break the 19:00 barrier. She has the fastest time in the State coming into the weekend with an 18:11 she ran at Districts. Her closest challengers look to be Klarie Brown (Kickapoo) with a season best of 18:16 at MSSU last week, Marissa Dick (Raymore-Peculiar) at 18:21, Makayla Clark (Lee's Summit West ) at 18:26, and Madison Hulsey (Lee's Summit West) at 18:29.
