The biggest meet in Missouri this weekend will be the Raymore-Peculiar XC Invitational. This will be the first chance teams on the west side of the state will get to run fast, as most ran on a tough wet course at Tim Nixon last week.
For the most part his weekend will be a rematch from the Tim Nixon Invitational. On the girl's side, defending Class 4 state champion Carolyn Ford will be searching for her third straight win this year, having already won the TRXC ABC Meet, as well as Tim Nixon last weekend. She ran 19:10 last week, and should have a great opportunity to be sub 19 this weekend. Last year's state runner up Mya Trober (Blue Springs South) was the runner up last week at Tim Nixon as well with a 19:30, and also will be looking to get below the 19 minute barrier this weekend.
We'll also be seeing a rematch in the team title race. Rock Bridge won last week at Tim Nixon with 58 points, followed by Liberty at 73, St. Teresa's at 78, and Blue Springs South at 117.
The boys race is also mostly a rematch from last weekend. Matthew Hauser (Rock Bridge) ran 16:12 at Tim Nixon to secure the win over Brock Wooderson (Blue Springs) who placed second with a 16:23. Both runners are definitely capable of being well below 16 minutes this weekend, as they look to reclaim their spot at the top of the rankings on a quicker course.
As far as the team race goes, It'll be the Tim Nixon teams with the addition of Bentonville West (Arkansas), and Joplin adding to the mix up front chasing the team title. Rock Bridge was first at Tim Nixon with 39 points, followed by Central (St. Joseph) with 66 points, Liberty North was third with 71, and Rockhurst was fourth with 110. Joplin placed second last week at SWCCCA, and this will be the first meet of the season for Bentonville West who finished sixth last year in the Arkansas 6A state meet.
