Poll: Missouri XC Performer of the Week (9/20-9/26)

In what was possibly the single fastest week in Missouri cross country history, there were plenty of stellar performances to go around. However, two runners stood out amongst the crowd.

Amelia Arrieta (St. Teresa's) had a fantastic performance at the Gans Creek Classic. She pulled away from the field for the victory, which as her fourth in a row to start the season, and ran a time of 17:24 which is the course record. That is the eighth fastest time ever ran by a Missouri high schooler, and is the fastest time ran in the state since 2015. In addition to that, she now also holds the 32nd fastest time in the country so far this season.

On the boys side at Gans Creek it was Connor Burns (Southern Boone) who came away with the victory in a stacked field. Burns finished with a time of 15:05 to break the boys course record at Gans Creek. That also stands as the fastest time in the state this season, and is the 43rd fastest time in the country this year. That time is also the 12th fastest time in state history.
