Round one begins today, and you will be able to vote through Monday, December 20th to decide which two runners advance to the finals.

Grace Tyson (Lafayette - Wildwood)

2021 was a very big year for the Lafayette junior, as Tyson was able to secure individual state titles in both track (3200m) and XC. She had a great season that saw her steadily improving from August through November. She earned the STL Suburban Conference Championships and followed that up with a very aggressive and impressive showing at the Class 5 State Championships where she finished as the champion. Her winning time of 17:42 was the second-fastest time in Missouri this season and stands as the fifteenth fastest all-time in state history.

VS.

Elyse Wilmes (Father Tolton)

Wilmes had a dominant freshman season, that included eight victories in eight tries. Among those victories include the AAA conference championship, the Class 3 District 3 championship, and the Class 3 State championship. Her winning time of 17:55 from the Bowling Green Invitational was the fourth-fastest time in Missouri this season, and the fourth-fastest time run by a freshman in state history.

Match-Up Two

Amelia Arrieta (St. Teresa's)

Seemingly coming out of nowhere Arrietta had one of the more interesting stories to come out of 2021. In her first year of cross country, she racked up four wins including the Gans Creek course record with a 17:24 at the Gans Creek Class. Her 17:24 was the fastest time in Missouri this season and the eighth fastest all-time in state history.

VS.

Riley Bryan (Smithton)

Byran had a great season to follow up a track season that saw her win a state championship in the 3200m. She six wins in eight races, including the Class 1 District 3 title, and the Class 1 state title with a season-best time of 18:27. Her two non-winning races saw her finish at the runner-up, as she was a consistent front runner all season long.
