MSHSAA Class 2 Track and Field Championship Recap


Lawson won the boys title by nearly the slimmest of margin, 48 ½ points, ½ point ahead of Whitfield.

The Cardinals won the title for the first time ever and bested the school's previous best finish of fourth in 2003. This was the first trophy ever for the St. Louis-based Whitfield School.

Cooper Slominski won the 110-meter hurdles and took the triple jump title for Lawson.



Whitfield won the 4x800- and 4x400-meter relays.

Charles Bobo, Jacob Hutchison, James Milgie were on both teams, while Jackson Brungart (4x800) and Musa Butler (4x400) rounded out the relays. Milgie and Bobo went 1-2 in the 400 with Milgie clocking a blazing 48.71-seconds.



Lutheran North swept the sprint relays winning the 4x100 and 4x200 - giving the St. Louis metro all four boys relay crowns.


Keith Bass and Jonathan Van Hook were on both teams. Jordan Carter and Julian Juszczyk - the 300-meter hurdle champ - were in the 4x200. Jaylin Carson and Karvon Jefferson rounded out the 4x100 team for the Crusaders.



Lexington's Evan Gosnell won the 100, 200 and high jump while nearly anchoring the Minutemen to the 4x200 title with a great closing finish. St. Joseph Bishop LeBlond's Elliott Murphy won the para 100, 200 and 400.
