2022 Class 3 Girls State Track and Field Photos

The Missouri MileSplit team captured some of the great Class 3 Girls action at the 2022 MSHSAA Class 3-4-5 State Track and Field Championships. There was plenty of excitement and drama as Westminster Christian ran away with the team title, scoring 70 points. Transfer Brooke Moore scored 34 points for the Wildcats after changing St. Louis County schools after Trinity Catholic closed a year ago. Moore won the long jump, triple jump, and 100-meter hurdles while taking 4th in the 100-meter dash.

Fellow Trinity Catholic transfer Sydney Burdine won the 400 for Westminster, while taking 3rd in the 200 and running on the 1st-place 4x400 and 2nd-place 4x200-meter relays.

Eldon edged the 2021 Class 2 champions STEAM Academy at McCluer South Berkeley, scoring 47 and 44 points. 2021 Class 3 champs Ste. Genevieve scored 33 points to win the 4th-place trophy, edging Incarnate Word Academy (31). Palmyra, Centralia, and St. Charles West all scored 29 points to tie for 6th.

Father Tolton Catholic scored 26 points to take 9th. Injuries impact every meet and every team, and an ankle injury to star distance runner Elyse Wilmes may have kept the Trailblazers from earning a top-4 team trophy.  The freshman won the 800-meters and anchored the Tolton Catholic 4x800 to the title, but a foot injury kept her from finishing the 1600 and running the 4x400 final.

Eleven points separated seven teams, 2nd-9th-place. That made for plenty of excitement, too much for some coaches taste.
