The Mo Mile Split
readers voted Montgomery County's Lyric Ford as the top senior
cross-country runner in Class 3 this fall.
Ford took fourth place at the MSHSAA Class 3 State XC Championships - her fourth straight all-state finish. She ran her personal best, 18:16.81, at the EMO Conference meet on Oct. 15 - taking first place.
It was her third title in the meet - this year held in Kingdom City - and avenged a runner-up finish the previous year.
That came during a stretch of three first-place finishes in four races - the exception was a third-place finish at the Gans Creek Classic.
She also took first at the Capital City Invitational, Fulton Invitational and New Haven Invitational.
Last year, Ford was 14th at the state meet, following a championship in 2020 and an eighth-place showing in 2019.
