Missouri Girls Performer Of The Week (April 3-8)

It's time to vote for the Missouri Girls Performer Of The Week!

Congrats to Kayleigh Jenkins of Blue Springs who claimed last week's Performer Of The Week! She got 49% of the vote, winning a close battle with Centralia's Jozelynn Bostick. Jenkins took first place in four events at the Rusty Hodge Invitational at Blue Springs South, winning the 100-meter dash and high jump and being on two winning relays for the Wildcats.

This week's Missouri standouts include some school records and other great performances!

There was...

Zaya Akins, Raytown South

The Kentucky signee won the 100-meter (11.74), 200-meter (23.61) and 400-meter (53.48) race at the Bill Summa Invitational, setting meet records in all three.

Makenzie Garr, St. Joseph Central

She broke her own school record in the shot put on all four of her throws -- the record is now 13.59 meters of 44 feet, 7 inches -- and they are the best distances in Class 5 this year and in the top 25 nationally.

Jennifer Hinkle, Knox County

The future Missouri Tiger won the javelin event at the Bill Summa Invitational on Saturday with a throw of 46.27 meters, which feet a new meet record and a new school record.

Letecia Howard, Plattsburg

Set a new school record in the high jump with a leap of 1.58 meters (5 feet, 2 inches) to take first place at the East Buchanan Invitational. In the process, she broke a school record Tina May set in 1986 of 5-1.

Voting ends at midnight on Tuesday
