Last week's Hillcrest Invitational was the 50th edition of the annual meet that the Springfield Public Schools high school hosts at Parkview High School's JFK Stadium. The varsity boys meet was held a day after the girls varsity Glendale Girls Night Out meet, held at the same location, for many of the same schools that competed the day after. Decent, not great weather was on display in Southwest Missouri for the Thursday afternoon meet.

The teams raced to the top 3 times in the state on the season after the weekend with Capital City winning in a meet record of 7:56.45. Waynesville was 2nd in 8:04.31 and Kickapoo 3rd in 8:08.30.

Waynesville's Faheem Mujahid heads off the track after handing the baton to Tyrell Phinn as the Tigers race in the 4x800 at the 50th Annual Hillcrest Invitational. Waynesville finished 2nd in 8:04.31, the second fastest time in the state on the season. Phinn captured the 800 title in 1:57.47 and Mujahid was 3rd in the 400 in 51.08 before Mujahid anchored the Tigers to victory in the 4x400 in 3:27.65.
