As the season for track and field comes to a conclusion, college track and field and cross country teams are filling up roster spots really fast. Here's a rundown of some of the signings, but we will post more in the upcoming days.
Full list of 2023 Missouri high school track and field college signings
- Park Hill's Alyssa Ball signed with Missouri State. She was an all-stater in the 200-meter dash last year in the Class 5 Championships.
- Ball's teammate Jordan Rider signed with Wichita State. The javelin thrower was fifth in districts last year.
- Saint Louis University picked up Notre Dame Cape Girardeau's Jenna Givens, joining former teammate Evan Bruenderman on the Billikens' roster. She was an all-stater in the Class 4 triple jump the past two years.
- Bruenderman's little brother, Cole Bruenderman, will head north to run in college but landed at Lindenwood University in St. Charles. The brother was part of the Bulldogs' 4x100-meter relay record. Cole holds the school record in the long jump, a mark his brother used to hold.
- St. Pius X Kansas City's Bernie Devine signed to run at Missouri Valley College. He was fourth in the Midland Empire Conference championship in the 800-meter run last year.
- Harrisburg teammates Braden Wyatt and Carli Ellis signed with Central Methodist University. Wyatt's won nine races this year and was the Lewis and Clark Conference champion in the 400-meter dash. Ellis was fifth in Class 2 high jump and qualified for state in the long jump last year.
- NaZariah James from Cardinal Ritter signed with Central Methodist as well. She was a state qualifier in Class 5 last year in the triple jump and long jump.
- Rolla's Guadalupe Rodriguez, a 2022 graduate, is getting back into the sport by signing with State Fair Community College. He was a state qualifier in cross country in 2021.
- State Fair also inked Liberty North's Bailey Haselhorst, who throws the javelin.
- William Woods inked Dashaun Dodson from Elsberry was a Class 2 all-state runner in cross country this past year and was a Class 2 all-stater in the long jump and triple jump in 2022. He was a state qualifier in cross country and the 3,200-meter run in 2021.
- North Platte's Shelby Lingle signed earlier this year with Kansas Wesleyan, where she will run cross country and track and field. She was an all-stater for the Panthers cross country, helping them win the Class 2 title. She qualified for state in cross country all four years of high school.
- Katy Menke of Hermann signed with Washburn University. She won the 800-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter events at the Four River Conference Championships this year. She was the runner-up in the Class 2 XC championship and an all-stater in 2021 as well - part of four trips to the XC finals.
- Bryce Reeves of Blue Springs South will take his speed to Missouri. He won the Kansas City Suburban Gold Division Championship in the 100-meter dash last year in 10.78.
- Hickman's Marshall Reed is headed to Division I Arkansas-LIttle Rock. He was a Class 5 all-stater in cross country by taking 20th this past fall. He was a state qualifier in 2021 as well.
- Tafaol Mohamed from Winnetonka signed with Indians Hills (Iowa) Community College. He has run the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash, 110- and 300-meter hurdles and cross country.
- Platte County's Hannah Mand has signed to close to home, inking with Park University. Qualified in the 4x200-meter relay in Class 5 last year. Earned all-conference honors in three relays and the 200-meter dash in 2022. She's a three-sport athlete, playing on a softball team that reached the final four the past two years and was a state qualifier in wrestling this past season.
- William Chrisman's Mele Taula signed with Division II Emporia State. She swept the Independence City Championships this year in the javelin and shot put. She was an all-stater in both javelin (sixth) and shot put (second) in the Class 5 finals. She's the school record holder in the javelin.
- Ella Cronhardt of Lee's Summit West signed with Missouri State. She was an all-state runner at the Class 5 cross country finals this past fall. She's run in the state meet for the past three years. She's also a state qualifier in the 1,600-meter run for the Titan
- Lee's Summit North's Jeremiah Rainey-Dunlap has signed with Northwest Missouri State in Maryville. He's won three of his five meets this year in the high jump competition for the Broncos.
