It's time to vote for the Missouri Boys Performer Of The Week!
Congrats to last week's winner, Joseph Anderson of Westminster Christian Academy, securing 64% of the votes. He picked up wins in the 110-meter hurdles (14.68 seconds) and triple jump (46 feet, 4 inches) and was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles at Ladue's Brusca-Strohbach. Anderson is pictured at the top winning the 110 hurdles.
This week Missouri's stars were spread across the state dropping some great performances!
The freshman won the 800 in 2:05.17 at the Suburban Silver Freshmen Championship and then ran a 4:24.47 in the 1,600-meter to place fourth at the Park Hill Invitational -- the best time for a freshman in the state.
At the Republic Relays on Thursday, the sophomore broke a school record in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 9:40.50, winning the race. The previous mark was held by Mason Shank, set earlier this year.
The Pittsburg State football signee had a throw of 56 feet to win the shot put event at the Girard (Kansas) Optimist Track and Field meet and broke a school record that stood since 1999.
Andy Thomason, Wentzville Timberland
Picked up first-place finishes at both the Troy Trojan Invitational and the Dale Collier/Kirkwood Invitational, the latter was a jump of 4.55 meters (15 feet) that set a new school record.
Voting ends at midnight on May 10!
