It's time to vote for the Missouri Boys Performer Of The Week!
Congrats to Andy Thomason of Wentzville Timberland won last week's poll with 65% of the vote. He picked up first-place finishes at both the Troy Trojan Invitational and the Dale Collier/Kirkwood Invitational, the latter was a jump of 4.55 meters (15 feet) that set a new school record.
This week Missouri's stars were spread across the state dropping some great performances!
Connor Burns, Southern Boone County
The future Oregon Duck broke a national high school record in the 5,000-meter run at the On Running Track Fest with a time of 13:37.30. Former Olympian Galen Rupp of Oregon held the previous record of 13:37.90 for 19 years.
Zachery Grace, Kearney
The Central Missouri football recruit broke a pair of track and field records, a 13-year-old school record in the shot put with a throw of 55 feet, 5 inches while breaking the 27-year-old discus record at 184-1 at the Suburban Blue Division meet.
Won the 800, 1,600- and 3,200-meter races at the Big 8 Conference meet on Tuesday, May 2 and broke the conference record in the 1,600 with a time of 4:21.13 -- breaking the mark of 4:28.64 that stood since 1989.
The senior was named the male conference athlete of the year by the Four Rivers Conference coaches fear winning the 200-, 400- and 800-meter dashes and was part of the winning 4x400-meter relay team on Monday, May 1.
