Werner

Ste. Genevieve native, Ste. Genevieve High School and Arkansas alum Taylor Werner set a personal best running 15:03 for 5,000 meters in June. The professional representing Puma ran a 15:29 for a road 5k in Boston in April. Her 15:03 puts her 44th on the world performance list for the year.

The former Pan Am Junior Championships 3,000-meter champion raced the 5,000-meters in the 2nd to last event of the meet on Sunday at the USA Championships. Werner ran in 10th thru 17th place over 12.5 laps. She ultimately finished 16th in 15:32 in the field of 22. Werner finished in 15:36, 4 seconds back of her former Arkansas teammate Katie Izzou who placed 15th.

Andre and Fisher

Two Missouri Tigers competed in the triple jump at USAs. Sacramento, California native Arianna Fisher has shined at the two previous US Championships. At the 2021 Olympic Trials, Fisher leaped to a 7th-place finish with a mark of 13.57. That mark was a personal and school record.

After 7th and 11th place finishes at the 2022 indoor and outdoor NCAA championships, Fisher placed 4th at the 2022 USA meet, just missing a top-3 finish and a possible spot on the World Championships squad. Fisher did represent Team USA. She placed 5th in the triple jump at the 2022 North America, Central American, and Caribbean Championships in the Bahamas.

Fifth-year senior Fisher and teammate Euphenie Andre took to the runway on the first night of the USA championships. After two fouls, Fisher recorded a fair jump of 12. 51/41-0.5. That gave Fisher a 13th-place finish in her final time wearing the Mizzou Black and Gold.

New York native Euphenie Andre is a 4th-year sophomore. She has finished 8th and 12th in two NCAA championship meets. She started with a foul on her first attempt at USAs. Her 3rd attempt measured 13.15m/43-1.75. That put her in 7th and gave her three more attempts as eight athletes advanced to the finals.

Andre didn't improve or reach her personal record of 13.39m/43-11.25, which she earned at Oregon at the NCAA meet last month. Andre held on for 7th to earn a berth on Team USA for the Pan American Championships next month.
