Missouri Girls Performer Of The Week (April 1-6)

It's time to vote for the Missouri Girls Performer Of The Week! This is the third edition for the 2024 track and field season, following the first full week of competition.

Congrats to last week's winner, McKenah Sears of Grain Valley.  The senior, coming off a knee injury, set a new school record at the Rusty Hodge Invitational on Thursday in Blue Springs with a throw of 45.97 meters (150-9) -- the best throw in the state this year and No. 8 in the country. She got more than 57,000 votes.

There was...


Brylee Acklin, Maryville 

The sophomore took home the Bob Carter Gold Track Shoe Award for scoring the most points at the Joe Shy Relays on April 5 in Chillicothe. She won the triple jump (33-9) and was second in the 100-meter hurdles, 200-meter dash, and 300-meter hurdles for the Spoofhounds. Acklin sits 13th on the Class 3 season performance list with a season-best of 10.29 meters/33-09.25, is 12th on the Class 3 100 hurdles list. In the 200, she's 10th in Class 3 in 26.95 and 3rd in the 300-meter hurdles with a 47.46 performance. 

Kyndall Harrington--Spain, Cardinal Ritter  (pictured at top)

The junior and some of her Cardinal Ritter teammates competed at the prestigious Arcadia Invitational in California this past weekend. Harrington-Spain placed second in the Invitational 100-meter hurdles in a MO#1 and US#9 13.67. She also placed fourth in the Invitational 300-meter hurdles in a MO#1 and US#16 42.43. Both marks were personal bests for the reigning Class 5 300 hurdles state champion. 


Zoe Martonfi, Eldon 

The reigning Class 3 state champion in three events, Martonfi competed at the William Chrisman Bill Summa Invitational in Independence.  Martonfi cruised to comfortable wins among mostly Class 4 and 5 athletes in the 1600 in a MO#15 and Class 3#3 5:16.05 and the 800 in a MO#13 and Class 3#1 2:22.44. Also the reigning state champ in the 300-meter hurdles, Martonfi was 2nd in that event in that event in a MO#3 45.94. In the triple jump, Martonfi was 2nd with a MO#6 11.26m/36-11.5.


Acadia Badgley, Carl Junction 

For the second week in a row, she broke the school record in the pole vault. The senior jumped 3.35 meters (11 feet) at the Girls Night Out meet on Thursday in Springfield. The mark ties her for 13th on the state list and 2nd on the Class 4 performance list.
