POLL: Missouri Girls XC Runner of the Week (Aug. 30-31)


We are off and running on the 2024 Cross Country Season!

With a handful of meets kicking off the 2024 season this weekend, we saw several impressive performances already. Below are the top girls performances from the past week around Missouri. The winner will be crowned the Missouri Girls Runner of the Week for "Week Zero."

Polling starts on Monday, Sept. 2 at 9 a.m. and ends on Friday at 12 p.m.

Kayleigh Norris - Harrisonville - The reigning Class 4 State Champion kicked off her season exactly as we expected with an emphatic victory over some of the state's best at the Tim Nixon Invitational on Saturday morning. Her 18:09.60 is tops among all girls by 23 seconds so far.

Brianna Krueger - St. Charles West - Class 3's top retuner Brianna Krueger kicked off her sophomore season with a 46-second victory over former Class 5 All-Stater Reese McDevitt at the First Capitol XC Meet. Krueger's 19:06.04 mark is over a minute faster than her 2023 debut on the same course. 

Brooklyn Lercher - Waynesville - Waynesville sophomore Brooklyn Lercher had a massive 2024 debut with a 20:04.49 on the difficult course at Cole County Fairgrounds at the Jim Marshall Invitational. It's the eighth fastest time in course history, per our database, and earned her the overall victory by 2:21.

Katrina Cantwell - Fair Grove - Fair Grove's Katrina Cantwell scored a victory by nearly a full minute at the Fellows Lake 5000 on Saturday. Her 20:38.30 mark is 6 ticks faster than her 2023 on the same course.
