POLL: Missouri Girls XC Runner of the Week (Sept. 9-14)


Week 2 was massive with big performances from Forest Park, Stan Nelson, Ray-Pec, and the Olathe Twilight, among others.

Below are the top girls performances from the past week around Missouri. The winner will be crowned the Missouri Girls Runner of the Week for Week Two.

Congratulations to Smithville's Naomi Hunter for winning our Week 1 poll! Hunter was the winner at the competitive Todd Warner Kickoff Classic on Saturday 9/7, running 18:46.10. It was her second sub-19 on the young season already. She will move on to the finals during the week of the State Championships, where we will determine who had the top performance of the regular season!

Savannah Amann - St. Joseph's Academy - Amann finished 3rd at the Forest Park XC Festival behind two recent ROTY nominees, Krueger and Mary McKenzie. She ran a personal best of 18:38.70. 

Ella Rew - Blue Springs South  - Rew (at top) was 6th at the Olathe Twilight, running 18:27.90, and finishing as the second fastest MO athlete in the field behind recent ROTY nominee Kayleigh Norris. Her Blue Springs South squad was 9th overall and the top MO school.


Gianna Ezekwe - North Kansas City - Ezekwe picked up her first win of the season at the Raymore-Peculiar Invitational, running 19:13.60 and finishing 12 seconds ahead of Joplin's Ava Doll. 


Maleah Eggers - Marquette - Eggers had her 2024 debut 5K at the Stan Nelson Invitational and picked up the victory in 19:13.60. This was 50 seconds faster than her 2023 performance at the same meet.
