POLL: Missouri Girls XC Runner of the Week (Sept. 16-21)


Fall is officially here and, much like the leaves, times are really starting to fall all over the state. Week 3 was another huge week with big performances from the Missouri Southern Stampede, Kris Solsberg Invite, and Richard Spring Invitational in Illinois, among others.

Below are the top girls performances from the past week around Missouri. The winner will be crowned the Missouri Girls Runner of the Week for Week Three.

Congratulations to St. Joseph's Academy's Savannah Amann on her Week 2 victory! Amann finished 3rd at the Forest Park XC Festival behind two recent ROTY nominees, Brianna Krueger and Mary McKenzie. She ran a personal best of 18:38.70. She will move on to the finals during the week of the State Championships, where we will determine who had the top performance of the regular season!

Gabrielle Moresi - Parkway Central - Moresi won the 60th Annual Cape Tigers Invitational in a course record 19:30.00 on Saturday. She's coming off a personal best 19:19.00 mark which earned her 8th in the Green Division at the Forest Park XC Festival.

Madalyn Mahoney - Lutheran St. Charles - Mahoney took home the victory at the Festus Bowles-Wright Invitational on Saturday, running 20:20.33 on a toasty day and a tough course. She boasts a lifetime best of 19:17.60 from last year's State meet, but has already run 19:30.20 this season. 

Lucinda Wright - Liberty North - The Freshman from Liberty North Lucy Wright has posted two sub-19 performances in the early goings, but ran a 17:48.02 3 Mile at the Richard Spring Invitational at famous Detweiler Park in Illinois on Saturday. This is equivalent to an 18:26 5K according to our conversion calculator.

Ava Doll - Joplin - In her first cross country campaign, Joplin's Ava Doll is pushing herself into the conversation as a top Class 5 runner already after running 18:31.60 at the Missouri Southern Stampede on Saturday. She has also run 19:12 and 19:25 this season.
