Nixa's Jackson Cantwell made his career indoor debut on Sunday at the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat Open #3 and he did not disappoint. The junior who made national headlines last outdoor season and has climbed to the top of the national rankings among high school football recruits this fall posted a new US No. 1 mark - 21.89m (71-9.75) in the shot put, shattering the previous best mark of the season by over 5 feet.
Check out the video of his throw here.
Cantwell seems to rewrite the history books every time he steps into the ring. In his first go-around on the indoor circuit, Cantwell posted a Missouri state record by over 7 feet and nearly broke the junior class national record. A US No. 6 mark all-time, expect Cantwell to challenge the indoor national record of 77-2.75, set by one of his father's US national team teammates, Ryan Crouser. He shared his schedule for the rest of this indoor season and the upcoming outdoor season with MileSplit Southwest.
