The 300 meter hurdles is one event that has seen some impressive breakthrough performances from athletes across the state in 2025.

Kirksville's Daimond Kangiela is the most improved in the state so far with his 41.92 personal best at last week's Joe Shy Relays. He has dropped nearly 12 seconds already.

A fun battle took place last Friday at the Eureka Invitational between Poplar Bluff's Patrick Slack, Ft. Zumwalt North's Aneas Smith, and Lindbergh's Wyatt Hilton. Hilton has dropped 3.2 seconds, Slack has dropped 5.65 seconds, and Smith is already trending toward his 39.63 mark from last year.
