Tim Nixon
Thank you for participating in the 1st Annual Tim Nixon Invitational, hosted by
Liberty and Liberty North High Schools. We are pleased to present this event to to
have great competition on a top level course, while at the same time honoring our
mentor, friend, and coach...Tim Nixon
Tim coached Cross Country at Liberty High School since 1979 till his untimely
passing in 2017. While his teams were consistently competitive on the State, and
even National level, Tims legacy is in his love for what the sport of Cross Country
could do to develop young people. He did life well, engaging in relationships through
his faith, and putting people before success. He loved his student athletes and
developing work ethic, teamwork and responsibility. He is missed by us all, but his
legacy will always be a part of Liberty Cross Country.

The Course
Warriors Best Friend is an organization that travels around the country, rescuing
homeless dogs and training them to give to Combat Veterans for free. The
organization has created a 5k Cross Country course on their land which they have
called Wildflower, with a starting line just to the North of the driveway. The course
is 5,000 meters and will be led and followed by a gator. It is relatively spectator
friendly. It is a national level course and they have worked very hard to maintain the
footing and trails. Please be respectful of the course and pick up after your teams.
Attached is the course map. There is a slight deviation from the map on mile 2. The
map has the trail going through springs, but the course has changed to avoid the
muddy situation.
