Meet Information

Festus McCullough-Douglass Invitational 2023

Coaches and Athletic Directors:

Thank you for choosing to participate in the 2023 McCullough-Douglass Invitational.  You can see from the list of participating teams, we are again welcoming an elite group of teams and athletes to Tiger Stadium.  We hope to provide some quality opportunities for kids to compete and get some excellent marks early in the season.

Like last year, we will be able to accommodate 3 athletes in the track events 400m and below, hurdles included.  For events longer than 400m and field events, we will again use the Class 2 district qualifying standard.  More specific information can be found under entries below.  We hope that you see these as opportunities to balance early season participation and hosting a high-quality event.

We have moved the Janis Williams Middle School Invitational to Thursday night and will no longer be contesting the distance relays and 5k as we have in the past.  Those events have provided opportunities for several athletes over the years, but participation has consistently faded.

Finally, the ELITE 3200m run is back as well!  The results from last year speak for themselves, but it was truly one of the most memorable (regular season) races I have seen.   The plan is to take the top 16 entered times (including qualifiers) and race them first thing Saturday morning.  The elite 3200m races will be run during the field events.  All other 3200m run entries will compete in the traditional slot, preceding the 4x400m relay.  In the event your athlete is chosen for the Elite 3200m and you do NOT want them racing in it, please let us know prior to Saturday, March 25th.  There are several new teams reaching out about the elite 3200m race and potentially bringing athletes JUST for this race.  It will be fun.

We look forward to seeing you!
