Preview
Glendale senior Spencer Haik has won this event two years in a row and looks better than ever after running 4:09.64 at Sectionals. He has also set PRs in both the 800 and 3200 this spring running 1:55.36 and 9:05. Haik has won every one of his last 13 1600m races dating back to State his sophomore year. He will have to go up against a stacked field, mainly Dylan Quisenberry, Stephen Mugeche and Noah Kauppila. Quisenberry, just a sophomore out of Lafayette has run 1:55 and 4:11 already, ranking him the fourth best sophomore miler in the nation right now. Mugeche and Kauppila are both tremendous athletes that have shown they can get it done at any distance 800 to 5K. Noah won the State Title in the fall and is the returning 800m champion and Mugeche is coming into Jeff City having set PRs in the 800/1600/3200 of 1:55/4:12/8:58 already this year.
