1. Ryan Riddle - Webb City - SR: It's a close one head-to-head between Mugeche and Riddle, but we felt compelled to give Riddle the preseason nod as the Class 4 MO#1. The young man from SWMO put on a show at the state track meet that has vaulted him into what may just be the status of "the man to beat." Case in point: He rolled a 4:14 1600 PR on Friday, he split 1:53 in an attempt at tracking down the aforementioned Adams of Kearney first thing Saturday, pulling Webb City to 2nd in the 3200m Relay, and, finally, he provided an impressive opening act to Hindman's 8:54 by dropping an eye-popping 9:06.07 - the 2nd fastest 3200 in Missouri in 2017 - and winning the fastest 3200 in state history. Riddle's 15:22 makes him the 3rd fastest returner, but combining that with his impressive track season vaults him to #1 on these preseason rankings.
