6. Lila Bensky - Ladue - SR - Class 4: Seemingly out of nowhere, Lila Bensky has gone from relative obscurity to significant relevance. She was a 20:50 girl in her first season in 2015 and did not crack the top 100 at state, but used a great 2016 track season as a springboard into a huge improvement on the course. She dropped over a minute and a half in 2016 and now boasts a 19:14 personal best. Further, she dropped almost 100 places at state and finished 37th this past year. She earned her first two all-state medals in the Class 4 1600 and 3200 (8th and 5th) and now owns 5:12 (5:11 full mile) and 11:36 bests on the track. We're preparing for a huge season from Bensky this season.
