Elliott Murphy still has one year to go at St. Joseph Bishop LeBlond and now has nine gold medals in the para events at the MSHSAA Class 2 State Track and Field Championships.
The junior won at least three medals in each of his first three years at the state meet.

"If I had to describe Elliott I would say he is a tenacious competitor," Coach Gregg Lynn said. "He might be the most competitive athlete I've ever coached. He expects so much out of himself and his teammates."
Murphy won the 100-, 200- and 400-meter para events this year and was second in the shot put.
He was a runner-up in the shot put as well last year and matched his golds with first in the 100-, 200- and 400-meter para races.
As a freshman, he won first in the 100- and 200-meter para races and the shot put.
