Josh McDonald has caused a couple of problems with the discus. He’s stopped traffic and brought up conversation to move the medal stand tent further away due to his monstrous tosses. It was warranted as a couple discus’ skipped their way under the fencing around the medal stand tent. He aims to bring the title back to the McDonald household as his brother won this event in 2009. McDonald, heading to Wisconsin next fall, comes in with a season and state best throw of 192-6. This throw would be second best All-Time at the state meet. If he can bust the 200 foot barrier he has a chance at a record set back in 2004 (201-4). Also in this field is the Davis’s from Blue Springs. Sophomores, they come in with the next two best throws. Khalil Davis threw 180-9 in the first week of competition and comes in seeded second. Carlos Davis threw 176-6 at his conference meet in late April, the third best mark in Class 4.
