What was your most memorable meet or race?
My most memorable meet was the 2012 State Track Meet. It was the most memorable because it was my first time becoming all-state for the 1600m. and 3200m. Our team also placed fourth overall with only four people scoring which I can definitely say is a great accomplishment
Who was your biggest competition?
Charles Jones (CJ). Even before high school track we've been training partners. Even though I consider him as a little brother, I look up to him as someone to be competitive with.
Out of all your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most?
I think the greatest one was the 2013 State Meet. Running all three of the distance races and being able to medal in all of them shows how much hard work and effort I put into track.
If you could do it all over again is there anything you would change?
If I could go back and change anything it would be my freshmen and sophomore years of running track. I wasn't as focused on the tactical side of running as I was the past two years. This would have benefited me greatly my first two years.
What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
The hardest obstacle for me was staying motivated throughout the season. Having a long season combined with the stress of school is one of the hardest things to do.
What will you miss the most?
The thing I will miss the most is my teammates that I've met during my four years of high school track. All the unique personalities and traits are one thing I will greatly miss.
Do you have any advice for younger athletes?
My advice for younger athletes would be to set your goals high and stay motivated.
What are your college plans?
My college plans are to attend Lindenwood University and major in athletic training. I will also be running cross country and track there.
