TEAM RANKINGS
Boys
1. Festus – We don’t see any reason to take down the team that has held this spot the last 6 weeks. They have rolled through the season and have a 1-2 punch that can compete with anyone in the State. 2nd a year ago, these boys will travel to Oak Hills as the clear favorite in Class 3.
2. SLUH – In Class 4 we don’t see anyone as the clear favorite next weekend. We give a slight nod to the two time defending champions. They held off last year’s #2 with a 10 point margin last Saturday in Warrenton.
3. Lafayette (Wildwood) – There will be plenty of teams challenging SLUH next weekend. We start with Lafayette Wildwood who put up a 23 in winning Section 1 with just a 34 second 1-5 split.
4 West Plains – The Zizzers boast an awfully tough 1-3 with Camden Barrett and the Inman twins. For the Zizzers to take the top spot on Saturday they will need some help from the 4-7 guys.
5. Rock Bridge – Runners up at State last year, the Bruins had a 17 second split on Saturday.
6. Rockhurst – Section 4 winners by a slim margin, they were 3 points back of #5 Rock Bridge at the Kearney Invitational.
7. Liberty – Just two points behind Rockhurst on Saturday, there appear to be 6 teams in Class 4 that will be fighting for the 4 spots collecting hardware.
8. Marquette – 6th a year ago, they return 3 of their top 5 from 2013.
9. Blue Springs – When you have a #1 as strong as Stephen Mugeche it inflates the 1-5 split but Blue Springs will to be close that 2:08 gap if they hope to medal next weekend.
10. Webster Groves– 3rd and Sectionals, 2nd at Districts and Conference Champs
