Ste. Gen Standouts, Lafayette Highlight Incredible Forest Park Festival

Witnessing History

Greg Hall hit the nail on the head. This Lafayette squad is truly something special. We will have to hold off on this till the end of the season, but this team could be the best team the state has ever seen. Their top three went 2-3-5, finishing within 2.1 seconds of each other. While Dylan Quisenberry didn't have the race of his career, he is one of the most talented runners in the state evidenced by his 800m State Title from his sophomore season. We expect him to be with the three up front before long. If that was the case yesterday they would have finished around 36 points...for one of the biggest meets in the state.

Maybe the most impressive thing about this team is their depth. We knew that their top four was on another level, but Tommy Laarman had an amazing performance as well. Laarman ran 30 seconds faster than he ran at this meet on a faster course in 2014. He finished in front of every teams third best runner except one (St. Thomas Aquinas of Kansas). Combined that with the fact that only two teams (Kearney and Ste. Genevieve) had a runner in front of their third runner, and you can see why this team is getting national attention.
