Boy's Field Events

Triple Jump

In a meet with such amazing performances, it is hard to pick a single outstanding event. However, the boy's triple jump gets the nod for the event of the meet after producing not one, but two top ten performances national performances. Papay and Rayvon battled back and forth all day. Papay squeaked away with the win, besting Ravon by three inches, 49-10 to 49-7 respectively. Outside of the top two finishers, the triple jump featured many other preseason all-state athletes.

Long Jump

In the long jump, Papay Glaywulumo again, but this time with Tyree Sorrells.  Mizzou's facility has the advantage of having a raised jumping surface and Sorrells and Glaywulu used that to launch into the national leaderboard.  The elevated surface allows for more spring from the floor at the penultimate step. Both athletes broke the 23-foot barrier at 23-5 and 23-1.25 respectively. Sorrells's mark was good for 12th in the nationally and Glaywulumo's jump is currently ranked 26th in the nation.
