4. Jessica Rhoads - Jefferson City, SR
PR - 41-11.5
Now we start to move into the 40+ throws as Jefferson City senior Jessica Rhoads comes in with a 41-11.5 heave. She got a medal last year, taking 8th in the 2017 shot, after taking 10th in the discus her freshman year. Rhoads was consistently over 40 last year and never threw under 38-7.
3. Makayla Hurst - Timberland, SR
PR - 41-0.25 (2016)
Makayla Hurst has been putting shot to the moon since middle school and now enters her final high school campaign in search of her third all-state medal in the shot put, which is why we have her ranked ahead of Jeff City's Rhoads even though Rhoads sneaked into 8th just ahead of Hurst last season. Hurst also has two medals in the discus and is one of the most decorated throwers in the state as a result. Her PR of 41-0.25 is just slightly better than her 41-0 from 2017.
