4. Jasmine Evers - Eugene, SR
PR - 37-6
Evers has competed in 6 events at the state meet already, securing trips in the shot and discus all 3 years leading up to her senior season. She has won the District 3 championship each of the last 3 years in the shot and has won twice in the discus. She also has 4 medals from state and 6 top 10 finishes. Putting Evers 4th in the shot put shows just how stacked this event is heading into 2018. She could very well take it all this year.
3. Layne Skiles - Purdy, SR
PR - 38-1.5
Skiles has 3 trips to the state meet under her belt, too, and she has grabbed a medal in only one, though: it was a 4th place medal last year in her personal best 38-1.5. It was a huge toss for Skiles as she had only thrown over 35-5 one other time before the state meet - a 37-1 throw at Sectional 3 in 2016. Skiles returns as a top 3 talent in Class 2 this spring.
