6. Allison Clevenger - Clever, SO
PR - 2:24.15
Clevenger's 2:24.15 is the top returning time among the Class of 2020 and puts her in a great spot to compete over the next three seasons. She does not compete in cross country, but can still boast two 2:24s and a 5:34 to her name. She was 6th last year as the entire top 9 girls from last year returned to do battle again this season. Clevenger enters ranked 6th, but with not much else known about her, she could fight for a top 5 or even top 3 spot.
5. Emily Fischer - Herculaneum, SR
PR - 2:23.62
The younger sister of former Herky phenom and 8-time state champion Kaitlyn Fischer, Emily does not add cross country races to her resume in the fall, but the senior is already faster than her older sister was in the 800. She was 5th in this race last year with all 4 girls ahead of her returning for 2018 so if she makes a jump on the podium, it will have to be over those who have already beaten her at the state meet this past season. She has good 200/400 speed and could probably out-sprint a few of them if she is in the right position at the right time.
