Jessica Anderson has better personal bests in both the 800 (she ran 2:26 before being DQ'd at state last spring) and 1600 than our top ranked 1600 runner, but finds herself 2nd for the time being as a result of her lack of a cross country resume. That is not her fault, of course, as her school does not offer cross country, but nonetheless, though Anderson has strong middle distance chops, it is hard to rank anyone ahead of our number one. But Anderson could very easily make a run at her first state gold this spring in either the half mile of 1600. Nobody is counting her out one bit. Watch out for the Knox County senior to surprise some folks this spring.
