Pre-Season Rankings: Team Scores

Class 2 Boys

1. Cleveland NJROTC

Projected Points: 69

Last year's finish: 1st

NJROTC is led by James Allen, Antonio Norman, and Kelsey Cole who should all join forces with Katron Franklin to potentially be very deadly in the 4x400, too. All four boys clean up very well in the jumps and long sprints (and 800) so with some relay points added in, they should cruise to a repeat victory in Class 2 as they double up their closest competition.

2. Monroe City

Projected Points: 33

Last year's finish: 2nd

After a second place finish in 2017, Monroe City should be back to repeat as runner ups in 2018. Nathan Mehrer gives them points in the 1600 and 3200 even though he does not get to compete in cross country, and Blake Hays, Zacharee Osborn, Clifford Talton, Logan Maher, and Parker Yager, among others, come together to make this a very strong and very deep team.

3. Butler

Projected Points: 29

Last year's finish: 5th

George Gardner is the Butler Bear name on everyone's lips as a result of his national caliber vaulting prowess, but he will only bring in 10 points.

For the Bears to get to the 29 we are projecting, and avoid the dreaded 5th place finish again, Cody Gabriel and Connor Sparks will be contributing heavily, too. Sparks, in fact, is slated to pick up silvers in both the 110 and 300 hurdles and will be a major key to the Bears' success this season.

Gardner is a lock in the vault, but with big weekends from Gabriel and Sparks, and maybe some surprise contributors, watch for Butler to challenge for 2nd.

4. Charleston

Projected Points: 28

Last year's finish: 3rd
