Races to Watch: Girls 100m, Girls 800m, Boys 200m, Boys Long Jump

On the Girls side, the 100m has the makings to be real competitive. With 10 Returners sub 13, including Lana Dorsey at 12.48 this should be a really fast event. The Girls 800m is also very competitive with 9 returners who have ran 2:25 or better. The favorite in the race will be Liberty's Madelynn Hill who owns a PR of 2:18 and has already ran 2:24 this year. Laurana Mitchell (2:20 PR) and Hailey Alvis (2:21 PR) should be right there with Hill and will make the event one to watch.

The Boys 200m will be hotly contested on Thursday as well. With 4 boys holding sub 21 PR's its going to be real tight and fast race. Shakespeare Williams (21.86) holds the fastest PR, but he is closely followed by Vontrae Booker (21.88), Jamad Jackson (21.92) and Nyles Thomas (21.93). The Boys Long Jump is going to be a clash of the titans. Dominic Gicinto, Tre Wheaton, and Chris Mckinzy all boast PR's of over 23 feet, so they should put on a show competiting against one another Thursday night.
